Join Barbara Grant, Founder and Developmental Specialist at Nudge and Cradle, for a socially conscious storytime. This storytime event is perfect for parents and kids!
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: Instructor, Barbara Grant, will lead storytime with children using books that celebrate differences in humans, encouraging empathy, understanding, and acceptance at a young age. Barbara will engage parents and children in conversation to ensure comprehension of developing a compassionate and socially conscious mindset. Families will leave with the tools to continue intentional conversations about awareness and tolerance and with new book recommendations! Storytime is best for ages five and under.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION: Nudge and Cradle provides holistic, developmental support and services using evidence-based practices that empower families to be their most authentic selves, in addition to their best parenting selves. By focusing on working within a family’s daily routines, Nudge and Cradle can help to intentionally create caring, meaningful, and natural learning opportunities.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Barbara Grant has over 10 years of experience supporting families of children with and without developmental delays and disabilities. She has a Masters in Education and Human Development in Early Childhood Special Education, with specializations in working with infants, teaching children with visual impairments, and supporting infant/early childhood and family mental health. Barbara has worked in early intervention programs in Arlington, VA and Washington, DC, and has spoken at conferences and trainings in the area, as well as guest lectured to students at the George Washington University.
Barbara Grant is passionate about providing support and guidance to families so that they can be their children’s best teacher and advocate.
