WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: Learn the ins and outs of creating floral arrangements just like the pros, and go home with your very own creation, perfect for decorating your home or giving as as gift.
WHAT YOU'LL MAKE: With the instruction of master florist, Michelle Samson, owner of MISA Floral, you'll learn basic cut flower care, go home with a beautiful summertime arrangement, and a new (or improved) craft that you can continue to develop at home.
WHAT'S PROVIDED: All materials including flowers, vessels, and tools are included in this 2 hour workshop.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Drawing disparate inspiration from Dutch paintings, films, textiles and fibers, hip hop artists like Nujabes and A Tribe Called Quest as well as Japanese floral design, Washington, D.C. area based floral designer/artist Michelle Samson of MISA Floral creates textural compositions using a mix of hand selected florals, foraged materials and nontraditional elements such as dried mushrooms, skeleton leaves, dyed florals, dried florals, and plants. Her composition work have an organic and natural quality known for their loose, gestural and garden focused style. Once described as the "Frank Lloyd Wright of Floral Design," she likes to use florals and foliage in unexpected ways.
