Join psychologist, Dr. Alexis Moreno, founder of Wit & Reason, on May 6th at Steadfast Supply for an afternoon of self-exploration, goal-setting, and mindfulness!
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN: Show yourself some love and incorporate more Self-Care and Mindfulness in your life. In this workshop, you will learn about Self-Care and how critical it is to your relationships, career, and overall well-being. You will have an opportunity to reflect on what is truly important to you and determine how you can incorporate the 5 different aspects of self-care into your daily routine.
Now, we don’t stop there. In order to set you up for success, you will get to create personalized self-care goals, identify practical steps to accomplish your goals, and develop a social support plan. You will also learn and actively practice aspects of self-care that can easily be incorporated into your daily life without making any schedule changes. You will learn about the powerful impact Mindfulness can have in your life and how it benefits your physical and mental health.
WHAT YOU'LL CREATE: At the end of this class, you will have put self-care into practice and made a personal 3x6 list of your own values to place in your home or workspace as a visual prompt to maintain and practice self-care!
WHAT YOU'LL LEAVE WITH: The workshop fee includes your own personalized values card and a checklist to help you incorporate customized self-care activities in your daily life. You’ll also take home a set of podcasts, apps, home device commands, and a list of resources to help you stay motivated and empowered to continue giving yourself the love and care you need (and deserve).

~ Kindly note: We will not be going deep into your psyche – This is not a psychotherapy session. Dr. Moreno’s educational workshop will focus on how you’re currently doing and give you an opportunity to proactively set (and start) some exciting personal goals. If you are interested in more intensive personal work, Dr. Moreno will be able to make some great recommendations for local psychotherapy services. ~
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Alexis Moreno is a consulting psychologist living in Washington, DC. She started her career providing therapy treatment to victims of trauma in Los Angeles, California, and quickly realized the importance of taking care of herself in order to help others. Alexis now shares health psychology research and trains overworked professionals in her wellness and leadership workshops; spends time talking with employees at all levels to discover impactful ways to create workplaces that are inclusively healthy and safe for everyone; and builds her growing media psychology consulting practice to integrate health psychology in media personnel’s personal and professional lives. Alexis admires photography, bright vibrant murals, warm sunshine, the delicate complexity of flower petals, and ocean waves (but she accepts the tiny Potomac waves in exchange for DC’s gorgeous historical architecture). Whenever Alexis’ clients or patients ask if the behavioral health interventions she’s teaching them actually works, she proudly smiles and confidently assures them because Alexis is the type of doctor who practices what she preaches and only teaches what truly makes a positive impact in people’s lives.
